Right in the middle of an extensive plain and beside the river Ohm rises a mighty conical-shaped hill--volcanic in origin. Atop that hill, at a height of 365 meters above sea level, the town of Amoeneburg offers an impressive view of the surrounding countryside.
Now for nearly 270 years, Amoeneburg has been the ancestral seat of the Cimiotti family. Generations of the Cimiotti family have lived there and have always been a firm and stable part of the Amoeneburg society. Even though the surname Cimiotti indicates a non-Hessian origin, no one could imagine the town without it.
